Biting the bullet

Well, I've decided to remove the core part of the layout - where the station and all the points are - and work on that.

I've removed the springs from 8 of the 9 points in this area.

Now I need to:

• Decide on all the various sections.
• Place sensors in the relevant places and wire them in.
• Wire the sections.
• Place lights without fixing and allow for wiring.
• Fix the track down starting left to right.
• Fix the point motors in place under the layout.
• Build and wire the controller for the points.
• Configure the controller and calibrate the points.

Gluing the tram track...

I started gluing the tram track down but the weather in Sydney is so wet that the glue is taking forever to dry. I'm going to bite the bullet and work on the central part of the layout - the dreaded core of the layout.
