First point motor working...

I've placed my first point motor using one of Franc Cater's magic 3D printed brackets. Unfortunately I snapped it a bit due to the fat screws I had to use to hold the motor in place. Some more feedback for Franc tomorrow I guess and maybe a new design?

Here's some video of it working:

From under the bench,

From the track side.

Anyhow, it's in place and working. I have had to place and nail down all the track in order to get this working. I realised when I started to put the point in that because everything is connected to everything else, I need all track in and all sections created in order to proceed. You can see in the picture below the isolating rail joiners and the track pins yet to be fully nailed down.

Installed main station sensors

Popped the sensors into the 2 station tracks running through the middle of the layout this afternoon. Some photos below.

Numbering Points and Sections

I've finally numbered my points and sections. This has to be done as a prelude to wiring or I'll get hopelessly lost.

I'm only numbering points which are actually being motorised at this stage. The system is left-to-right - simple.

Also, sections are numbered in a priority order - the ones being computerised and used most often are numbered lowest.

Sensors are shown as black dots.

I'm ignoring the tram line for this diagram.
